As part of Minnesota’s Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) 2018 statues, educators must complete a reading preparation course. The course must address comprehensive, scientifically based reading instruction (SBRI) practices. In this course, attendees will learn how to identify SBRI. Attendees will be provided with various resources to explore and use both during the class and thereafter.  Finally, participants will apply their knowledge of SBRI to several case studies, to make informed instructional decisions with the intent of increasing students reading in their area of greatest need.
